Call for Papers

ECTA is sponsored by INSTICC – Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication
Scope

Considered a subfield of computational intelligence focused on combinatorial optimization problems, evolutionary computation is associated with systems that use computational models of evolutionary processes as the key elements in design and implementation, i.e. computational techniques which are based to some degree on the evolution of biological life in the natural world. A number of evolutionary computational models have been proposed, including evolutionary algorithms, genetic algorithms, the evolution strategy, evolutionary programming, and artificial life.
This conference intends to be a major forum for scientists, engineers and practitioners interested in the study, analysis, design, modeling and implementation of evolvable systems, both theoretically and in a broad range of application fields. ECTA welcomes both theoretical research and practical applications.
The conference also aims to foster hybrid approaches within evolutionary computation and also involving fuzzy computation and neural computation.

All accepted papers (full, short and posters) will be published in the conference proceedings, under an ISBN reference, on paper and on CD-ROM support.
All papers presented at the conference venue will be available at the SciTePress Digital Library (http://www.scitepress.org/DigitalLibrary/). SciTePress is member of CrossRef (http://www.crossref.org/).
A short list of presented papers will be selected so that revised and extended versions of these papers will be published by Springer-Verlag in a SCI Series book.
A short list of papers presented at the conference will be selected for publication of extended and revised versions in a special issue of Springer's LNCS TCCI Journal.
The proceedings will be submitted for indexation by Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (ISI), INSPEC, DBLP and EI (Elsevier Index).

Venue

Paris is a close-knit and welcoming place with a pleasant climate. The Seine cuts across the city and two woods on either side offer a breath of fresh air.
From Lutetia to the Napoleon Bonaparte Empire, from the declaration of the Republic to the Paris Commune: Paris was right at the heart of events that marked French history and shaped its present.
Just 25 minutes from the heart of Paris we can find the main campus of the Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC). Founded in 1971, it is one of the biggest multidisciplinary universities in the Paris Region.
